Philadelphia Union forward David Accam believes the MLS is of higher quality than that of the Swedish top-flight.
The Ghanaian international moved to the MLS after three seasons in the Swedish Allsvenskan.
Accam attracted interest from Chicago Fire after bagging 30 goals in 68 appearances for Swedish giants Helsingborg.
Contrary to impressions about the substandard level of the MLS, the 28-year-old think otherwise.
“Many think MLS can’t be compared to Europe but I played in Sweden and I play in MLS now and I think the quality in MLS is higher than Sweden,” he said in an interview with Citi TV.
“Now the League is growing, they have a lot of young players coming in, young good players from South America and it is making the MLS very interesting.
Having managed to find the back of the net just once in 23 appearances for Philadelphia Union last season, the striker will be hoping to return to his best of forms at the Club after recovering from an injury.
