Ghana Premier League side Liberty Professionals have confirmed the transfer of defensive midfielder Jude Ekow to Finnish top-flight side SJK on a long term deal.
Ekow, 19, is expected to commence training with his new club and teem up with his new team-mates for upcoming friendly games and the Suomen Cup which starts in late January.
The prodigious youngster was promoted from the academy last season and excelled in a dual position during the league season.
He is also a member of the Ghana U20 side that is preparing for the upcoming African Youth Championship and is expected to play an influential role for Ghana.
A club statement confirmed the transfer: “Liberty Professionals announces the transfer of defensive midfielder Jude Ekow Arthur,19, to SJK of Finland. Jude was promoted from the academy last season and excelled in a dual position during the league season. He is also a key member of the national U-20 steam, Black Satellites. We wish him well with his career. Simply the best.”
He is expected to debut for SJK when they take on Jaro in a rehearsal game in 7 days time before making his competitive debut 6 days later in the Suomen Cup.
He joins the league of Ghanaian stars plying their trade in the Northern European national with the likes of Evans Mensah and Anthony Annan who won the Finnish title last season with HJK Helsinki.
Midfielder Jude Ekow Arthur has joined Finnish top tier side SJK Seinajoki.
