Kotoko have renewed their interest in Ashanti Gold forward Shafiu Mumuni.
The Porcupine Warriors could not sign the striker before the start of the season after Ashanti Gold reportedly refused to agree terms with their regional rivals.
Kotoko however maintain their stern interest in the goal poacher as they seek to secure his signature for the team’s group matches in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Coach CK Akunnor is unsatisfied with his attacking options hence the request to have Mumuni in his set-up.
Sources reveal Kotoko have officially written to Ashanti Gold inquiring about the availability of the attacker.
An agreement between Kotoko and Ashanti Gold would see the 23-year-old joining the Ghanaian giants in the coming days.
Kotoko have been drawn together with Zambian sides Nkana FC and ZESCO United as well as Al Hilal of Sudan in the Group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
