Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong says the team will progress past the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The defender led his side to book a place in the last 16 after eliminating Cameroonian side Coton Sport.
Kotoko are in the same group with Zambian sides ZESCO United and Nkana FC as well as Al Hilal of Sudan.
Just as the team defied the odds to reach the Group phase, Frimpong believes his side will better the feat by advancing to the next round.
“Before the competition, our main target was to reach the group stage, God willing we have been able to achieve that,” he spoke to NL Radio.
“Now our target is to progress past the group stage and get to the next round and we are going to work towards that.
“We have been motivating ourselves each and every time which is making things work for us.
“We are going to do all we can to qualify out of the group.”
The Porcupine Warriors remain Ghana’s sole representative in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup competition.
A good performance from Kotoko could see Ghana win back its four slots in the CAF inter-club competitions.
