Spain-born Ghanaian striker Inaki Williams scored the match-winner for Athletic Club who resisted a strong challenge from hosts Celta de Vigo to record a 2-1 away win in the La Liga on Monday night.
The 24-year-old ended his three-game goal drought with a silky finish in the 54th minute at the Estadio de Balaídos in Vigo.
Inaki bombed forward with a blistering pace after picking an intelligent searching pass from goalkeeper Iago Herrerin. The Spain U21 striker outran his marker with his quick before positioning himself slotting past the onrushing Celta keeper.
Ghana have declared their interest in capping the striker at senior level but he has reportedly told Ghana coaches he is not ready to make a switch for the West African powerhouse.
He has featured in one international friendly for Spain but he is still eligible to represent Ghana as FIFA rules does not bar him from playing for Ghana despite playing for the Europeans.
Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has admitted he has headache at his striking department and is looking for a replacement for the aging Asamoah Gyan.
