Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Leeroy Owusu netted his first Dutch Eredivisie goal of the season for De Graafschap as they battered NAC Breda 3-0 on Friday night.
The 22-year-old added his name to the score-sheet with a striker in the 95th minute at the De Vijverberg with over 12,000 fans watching from the stands.
Owusu’s late strike delivered the final killer punch to the visitors in a game the host dominated from start to finish in all departments.
The hosts won a free-kick at the dying embers of the game and the former Ajax Amsterdam player elected him and bent a beauty home to make name for himself with a well-rehearsed kick.
Despite the results both teams remain in the relegation zone and Graafschap must improve their records if they are to beat the drop from the top-flight at the end of the season.
He was born to Ghanaian parents in the European country and is eligible to represent either the Netherlands or Ghana.
