Ghanaian teen midfielder David Yannick Debrah is expected to return to the youth team of Bundesliga giants Schalke 04 in June after the expiration of his loan contract at Rot-Weiss Essen U19.
Debrah, 18, is the son of former Asante Kotoko and Ghana striker Joe Debrah and was born in Essen – Germany.
He joined Schalke’s U16 team in 2015 and has been on the books of the Royal Blues.
His hometown club Essen U19 acquired him for a season-long loan for the current season and would release him back to Schalke at the end of the season.
He was drafted into the unsuccessful 2019 Ghana U20 squad but coach Jimmy Cobblah axed him from the final squad for reasons best known to him.
Schalke have tied him onto a deal until June 2020.
