Dalian Yifang striker Emmanuel Boateng claims he received an advice from Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan before moving to the Chinese Super League.
Gyan, a former player of Chinese Club Shanghai SIPG experienced the Super League where he spent one season.
Boateng’s move to China raised massive concerns after the player excelled in the La Liga with Levante.
The former Ghana U20 star reveals he kept contact with his Ghanaian compatriot before making his move to China.
“Indeed, for me, Ji’an is like my brother. He often gives me very good advice. Before I came there, I had a phone conversation with Ji’an.
“He told me that if you feel good, then go. Go to the Chinese Super League to prove yourself. Ji’an told me that choosing a Super League would not be wrong.”
Dalian Yifang signed the Ghanaian international for a fee believed to be in the region of 11million euros.
