Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have doused rumours claiming they’ve held a meeting with local representatives of striker Songne Yacouba.
The local press was awashed with reports claiming the two parties have had discussions on the player’s future.
But, Kotoko’s head of communication Lawyer Sarfo Duku has rubbished the reports in an interview with Kumasi-based OTEC FM.
“Kotoko doesn’t know or have any local manager for Songne Yacouba on our records. He is still our player and we haven’t met with any manager seeking for an improved contract for him,” he said.
The Burkina Faso international, 27, has courted attention from Zambian club Nkana FC and Sudanese powerhouse Al Hilal Omdurman following his stellar performance in the CAF Confederation Cup.
In February Footy-Ghana reported that ZESCO United FC have also joined the chase for the striker who is mostly efficient when played as a supporting striker.
The reports claim representatives of the workaholic striker met Kotoko regarding the transfer of the striker.
