New Edubiase United President Abdul Salam Yakubu has fired a missile at Normalisation Committee President Dr Kofi Amoah, claiming he has hijack Ghana football.
The outspoken administrator feels mistreated and cheated by the FIFA quasi body and has insisted his club won’t participate in the Normalisation Special Competition.
Edubiase remains the only club that is yet to officially confirm their participation in the special competition.
“I feel cheated by the Normalisation Committee and I’m very aggrieved by the turn of events. No one has officially written to me to play in a competition. I only heard about it on radio,” he told Accra-based Asempa FM.
He said football administrative heavyweights have neglected local football and have abandoned running of the game to the NC.
“For the six months given by FIFA to the Normalisation Committee they did nothing. Dr Kofi Amoah never spoke to any football person on elections roadmap.
Politicians have taken over the running of football from football people. No one is ready to speak and challenge the system. Experienced administrators like Cudjoe Fianoo, Kurt Okraku, Osei Kwaku Palmer and George Afriyie have all kept quiet because you’ll be tagged if you stand up against the system.”
He revealed he has planned engaging all stakeholders of his club but is unwilling to backtrack on his stance.
“At the end of the day I will engage everyone at the club on the reasons why I’m not in favour of playing in this competition.
If any player feels my decision will affect his career I will respect that player’s feelings and release him.”
