Paderborn have confirmed Bernard Tekpetey’s call-up for the Black Meteors Olympics games qualifier against Gabon.
The attacker is among three players at the Club to have earned invitations from their various national teams.
Tekpetey is being joined by Nigeria’s Jamilu Collins and Mohamed Dräger from Tunisia who have all earned call-ups from their respective countries.
The 21-year-old is expected to join the Ghana U23 camp this weekend as they prepare for the big game at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 23.
“We are very pleased with the nominations of our players for national teams of their home countries and all three players have earned this recognition with strong performances in the SCP07 jersey and we wish them good luck for the international matches and hope that they return safely to Paderborn ” Markus Krösche, Paderborn’s Managing Director emphasizes.
The former Schalke man receives his first Ghana U23 call-up despite playing for the senior national team at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
He missed out in Ghana’s previous qualifier against Togo.
