Kotoko Coach CK Akonnor believes his side can still seal through despite drawing 1-1 at home with Al Hilal in the penultimate group match in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Kotoko missed an opportunity to become the first Club to confirm a place in the last eight in the competition.
The Porcupine Warriors had to toil to settle for a stalemate at home after Songne Yacouba’s late header cancelled Waleed Hamid’s first half goal for the visitors.
The draw leaves Kotoko with no option than to beat ZESCO United in the final match in Zambia, a hurdle CK Akonnor admits will be tough.
“I am not happy with the results but is good because we could have lost the game,” he told the press.
“We had to dig deep to get the draw, it was a very difficult game I must admit.
“But all is not lost, is good we had the draw meaning we have to go to Zambia and bear ZESCO which won’t be easy, if we don’t meaning we are out.
“But everything is possible, we will go back, prepare well and go to Zambia.”
Kotoko sits third in the group with 7points from five matches. A win over ZESCO will certainly see them through to the quarterfinals.
