Techiman City FC got their campaign to a flying start after posting a 1-0 win over Real Tamale United in the Normalisation Committee Special Competition on Wednesday.
The Techiman-based side secured the win thanks to a 20th minute strike from youngster Kenneth Effah in the Northern regional capital.
Following City’s early lead United worked assiduously to pull parity but the visitors defended their lines spiritedly to manage home the maximum points.
City’s opening day fixture against Paga Crocodiles was rescheduled following ridiculous errors from match officials who misinterpreted the Ghana Football Association’s player registration system.
The win gives them the right kind of spark to glitter in the tier two competition which began last weekend.
