Outspoken football administrator Alhaji Karim Grusah has gone point-blank at Kwesi Appiah and fired the Black Stars head coach James Kwesi Appiah for not inviting Barcelona forward Kevin-Prince Boateng.
The King Faisal bankroller is furious about what he claims is Kwesi Appiah’s unwillingness to open his doors to the 32-year-old due to a Brazil 2014 World Cup incident.
Kwesi Appiah has openly insisted the ex-Sassuolo talisman must publicly apologise for his conduct at the tournament before he considers him for a place in his squad.
But, the free-spoken Grusah doesn’t believe Appiah has a case.
“Kevin Boateng doesn’t need to apologise for anything. What has he done? We know what is going on. Kwesi Appiah as a matter of necessity must include Sulley and Kevin in his squad for the AFCON. Sulley has apologised years now but has never been invited,” he told Accra-based Peace FM.
Both Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari were banned from the Ghana national team for their conduct during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
But, Muntari has issued a public apology for his conduct is yet to receive a call up back to the Black Stars while Boateng has insisted in several interviews that he did nothing during the tournament.
Sulley recently signed for Spanish second-tier league side Albacete while Boateng made a winter move to giants Barcelona.
Kwesi Appiah would be pressed and have selection headache in his squad if he decides to consider the two players as he has built his squad around a certain band of new players since taking over the reigns on his second coming as Ghana head coach.
