Ghana’s Women’s 4X100 relay team have qualified for the IAAF World Championship to be hosted in Doha this year.
The team made up of Hor Halutie, Flings Owusu Agyepong, Persis Williams-Mensah and Gemma Acheampong clocked 44.77sec at the World Relay Championship in Yokohama (Japan) to book a place at the competition which comes off in September.
The quartet made it to the finals at the World Relay Championship where they finished 7th after placing second in Heart 2.
Despite failing to beat their competitors in the finals, Ghana secured a place at the World Championship.
The team will hence begin intense preparation for the competition later this year.
This year’s World Athletics Championship starts from September 28 to October 6.
