Kotoko have disassociated themselves from a bribery scandal after a supporter of the Club was caught on tape trying to lure match officials prior to their game against Ashanti Gold.
The Supporter whose name was given as Shishila was heard on tap negotiating with the match officials to have the game go in favor of the Reds.
A statement released by the Club on Thursday saw the Porcupine Warriors distancing themselves from the scandal insisting they have no hand in the issue at hand.
The release went on to clarify the team’s stance which indicated the said supporter has no relationship with the Club’s Executive chairman Dr. Kwame Kyei as well as management members.
Meanwhile the Normalization Committee of the Ghana Football Association is expected to look into the matter and take the necessary step.
Bribery scandals in the game have been on a high, a situation which saw the former Administration of the Ghana Football Association being dissolved.
Several referees have further suffered life-time bans after being caught in various scandals.
