Kotoko have asked Policy analyst Yaw Amo Sarpong to relinquish his position with immediate effect.
Sarpong was already serving a suspension from the Ghana Football Association Normalization Committee after a disruptive behavior during Kotoko’s NC Special Cup match against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park.
The game which produced chaotic scene after misunderstanding between officials of Kotoko and supporters of Chelsea saw Amo Sarpong eventually pulling out a gun and gave several warning shots in an attempt to scare his challengers away during the banter.
The Normalization Committee after looking into the matter asked him to step aside from all football related activities until further notice.
Latest developments indicates the executive chairman of Kotoko, Dr. Kwame Kyei has further relieved the official (Amo Sarpong) off his duties.
“It was an interesting journey, a true call to duty, I served with all my heart & might,” Amo Sarpong told Sikka FM in Kumasi.
“May God bless the club, the Executive Chairman, management, fans & grant us the favour to achieve greatness once again.”
Kotoko meanwhile is expected to communicate the decision to the public.
