Mohammed Alhassan has become the first Hearts of Oak player to earn a call-up to the Black Stars ahead of a major tournament after 13 years.
The defender has been selected to make-up Kwesi Appiah’s 29-man provisional roster for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Alhassan earned a deserved invite from the Black Stars Coach having stood out in the NC Special Cup where he has featured in all 13 matches so far for Hearts of Oak.
The former WAFA man will make the team’s trip to Dubai for a training tour where he will be hoping to break into the final squad to Egypt.
Hearts of Oak last had a player invited to the Black Stars for a major tournament in 2006 when former defender Dan Quaye was selected for the FIFA World Cup in Germany.
