Promising Ghanaian youth attacker Daniel Kofi Kyereh scored a late goal to power Wehen to Bundesliga II promotion on Saturday afternoon.
The 23-year-old crashed home the match winner on the 79th minute mark as his resisted a fierce challenge from Uerdingen to emerge 3-2 victors on the final matchday of the season.
Germany-born Agyemang Diawusie raced the visitors into an early lead but the hosts levelled as the game changed fortunes and fate until Kyereh took matters into his hands to win the day for his side.
The goal became just his second league goal of the season for Wehen.
Wehen have earned promotion along with Osnabruck and Karlsruher to the German second-tier division.
Kyereh has made stunning contributions to Wehen’s scoring 15 league goals and providing over 5 assists meaning he has gotten involved in over 20 goals in the course of the campaign.
Kyereh, who was born in Accra to a Ghanaian father from Nsoatre in the Bono region and a German mother, is interested in representing Ghana.
He is Wehen’s second highest scorer in the league this season after 30-year-old Manuel Schaffler.
Kyereh grew through the ranks at Bundesliga giants Wolfsburg.
