Ghana progressed to the semi-finals of the WAFU Women’s Cup of Nations after trouncing Togo 6-0 in their second Group game.
Having defeated Senegal 2-0 in the opening game, Ghana built on their previous performance to thump their Togolese counterparts at the Parc Des Sports.
Striker Mukarama Abdulai who came off the bench to score in the team’s opening game against Senegal found the back once again after scoring on the stroke of half-time.
Alice Kusi made it two before scoring her second and Ghana’s third from the penalty spot.
Midfield gem Grace Asantewaa registered her name on the score sheet by getting Ghana’s fourth before Mavis Owusu rounded-up victory with two more goals. Owusu was further adjudged the best player in the game.
Ghana are on the quest to defend the title and will now take on host Cote d’ Ivoire in the final Group match.
