Ghana will play Mali in the third place play-off at the WAFU Women’s Cup of Nations.

Ghana failed to defend the title after losing 4-2 on penalties to bitter rivals Nigeria in the semi-finals.

The Black Queens will now have to settle for bronze on Saturday when they take on Mali who also lost 2-1 to host Cote d’ Ivoire in the other semi-final match.

The game will be a repeat of the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations Group stage match where Mali stunned Ghana 2-1.

Nigeria and Cote d’ Ivoire will engage in the finals of the competition later on Saturday.

Cote d’ Ivoire will be playing in their second straight finals after losing in the last edition of the competition to Ghana.
