Captain Andre Ayew could miss Saturday’s group match against Cameroon on Saturday.
The attacker sustained a knock in Ghana’s 2-2 draw with Benin on Tuesday.
Ayew got a harsh challenge from Benin midfielder Sessi D’Almeida and was eventually replaced by Afriyie Acquah.
He is currently being assessed by the medical team as he races to be fit for the game against the defending Champions.
Already winger Thomas Agyepong has been ruled out of the game and losing the captain could be a blow to Coach Kwesi Appiah.
Kwesi Appiah could turn to the likes of Kwadwo Asamoah, Caleb Ekuban and General captain Asamoah Gyan should the need arises.
The Coach has already been hit with a blow as he will be missing the services of defender John Boye through suspension after the player picked up a red card in the game against Benin.
The Black Stars must beat Cameroon to open up their chances of making it out past the group stage of the competition.
