Kevin-Prince Boateng has made a return to Serie A Club Sassuolo after Barcelona refused to activate the option to buy the player having completed his six months loan deal with the Spanish giants.
Boateng earned himself a move to Barcelona having scored five times in 15 appearances for Sassuolo in the Serie A last season.
The Ghanaian could not do enough to merit a permanent contract with Barcelona as he returns to his parent Club.
The 32-year-old will be hoping to take off from where he left at Sassuolo by making a meaningful impact at the Club next season.
Meanwhile the midfielder could also seek a transfer away from the Italian Club this summer.
He joined Sassuolo from German Club Eintretch Frankfurt last season.
