Patrick Twumasi says misunderstanding between his agent, Coach and management caused him playing opportunities at Spanish Club Deportivo Alaves last season.
The attacker barely featured in matches for the La Liga side last term despite joining as one of the highly-rated players after an incredible stint in the Kazakhstani Premier League with Astana.
Twumasi only managed to come off the bench to feature for Alaves on 11 occasions throughout the season, a situation which affected his place in the Black Stars team as he missed out on the squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 25-year-old has shared lights on his patchy season at Deportivo Alaves.
“I went to join them (Deportivo Alaves) during Pre-season and I was expecting to have a good season with them but for one or two reasons things didn’t go as I expected due to some management issues and all that,” he told Ghanasportsonline.com.
“There was a little misunderstanding. I wanted to have a meeting with the Coach for him to explain to me why I was not playing, I called for that on three occasions but he rejected all.
“I questioned my agent for him to also talk to them (Alaves) but they couldn’t give him any explanation. My agent even set spies on me to see if I was doing the right things at training and he got to know that I was doing everything well at training so he was surprised I was not getting playing time.
“But it came out that there was a misunderstanding between the agent and the Coach. At a point they even lied against me that I feel I am a better player than the others, so many issues.”
Several Clubs have already expressed interest in the attacker who could be on his way out of the Club (Deportivo Alaves) before the end of the transfer window.
