Ghana’s Sean Sarfo Antwi, Amoah Joseph Paul and Azamati Benjamin Kwaku all made it through to the Finals of the Men’s 100metres at the African Games.
The two progressed from their respective Heats to join Gemma Acheampong and Persis William-Mensah who also made it in the Women’s 100metres event.
Safo-Antwi was the first to hit the ground running when he made a time of 10.51 to finish second in Heat 2. Amoah Joseph Paul however made a better time of 10.28 and also placed second in Heat 4. Benjamin Kwaku Azamati’s 10.32 was not just enough to push him through to the finals despite finishing second in Heat 5.
Young female Athlete Grace Obour ward off stage fright as she competed in her first major senior competition for Ghana when she made a time of 52.53 to progress in the Women’s 400metres event.
