Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan remains unhappy about the decision to strip him off his role in the National team.
Gyan lost his position as captain of the Black Stars prior to Ghana’s campaign at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 33-year-old saw his duties as captain being assigned to Andre Ayew who previously served as the deputy skipper for the side.
The attacker believes his teammate (Andre Ayew) should have rejected the offer to become the captain of the team.
“I won’t blame him (Andre Ayew) that much but I think he should have rejected the offer,” he spoke to Asempa FM.
“When you are being given something that is shrouded in a lot of trouble and controversy, it’ll only be wise that you don’t go for it.”
Coach Kwesi Appiah was heavily criticized for his weird decision to name Andre Ayew as his captain with Gyan still remaining an active member of the team.
