Black Stars General Captain, Asamoah Gyan feels betrayed by Coach Kwesi Appiah after the latter took a decision to deny the former Sunderland man his captaincy duties.
Gyan lost his role as captain of the Black Stars team to his deputy Andre Ayew.
Coach Kwesi Appiah took the decision to replace Ghana’s most capped player weeks before the Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt.
The 33-year-old who still remains unhappy with the decision feels let down by his National team Coach.
“I feel betrayed and the decision did not go down well with me. We had a father-child relationship,” The attacker declared in an interview with Asempa FM.
“I had finished my contract in Turkey and needed this tournament to help push me in my career.”
He is yet to announce his retirement from the Black Stars team despite rescinding an earlier decision after an intervention from President Nana Addo before Ghana’s participation at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
