Abdul Fatawu Safiu has joined Swedish Superettan side Trelleborgs FF from Kotoko.
Trelleborgs FF reached an agreement with Kotoko for the 25-year-old who initially saw a deal with Allsvenskan side Helsingborgs IF fall through.
Helsingborgs could not meet the demands of Kotoko and were only willing to pay a paltry $15,000 loan deal for the attacker.
This caught the interest of Trelleborgs FF who decided to hand him a one-year contract with the option to extend the deal.
“We continue to strengthen on the attack side. Now through 25-year-old forward Fatawu Safiu from Ghana. The contract is valid for the 2019 season with an option for an additional 2 years,” a statement on trelleborgsff.se read.
Trelleborgs FF after suffering relegation from the Swedish top-flight last season wants to fortify their squad and have already signed Musa Noah Kamara from Sierra Leon.
