Real Valladolid surprised themselves with a crucial away win over Real Betis at the Estadio Benito Villamarín. The pillar of their defence was Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu while Joseph Tetteh Anang was in fine shape for West Ham United U23 in the Premier League.

The experienced defender played at the heart of defence for Metz who proved superior over AS Monaco by beating them 3-0 on Saturday. Boye was solid as they shored up the back.
Central Defender – Mohammed Salisu – Real Valladolid (7.9/10)
Quality world-beating performance from the 20-year-old Kumasi-born who excelled at the back for his side who beat 10-man Real Betis 2-1 in the opening weekend of the La Liga.
Full-back – Leeroy Owusu – De Graafschap (6.9/10)
The former Ajax Amsterdam youngster was key to Graafschap’s emphatic 3-0 home win over Maastricht in the Netherlands.
Full-back – Jans Gyamerah – Hamburg SV (7.1/10)
Whenever Gyamerah was in possession he showed good energy and excelled with beautiful cross and combined that with supreme defending qualities.
Midfielder – Wakaso Mubarak – Alaves (8/10)
Superlative performance from the Black Stars midfielder who helped Deportivo Alaves to win 1-0 against Levante. He was workaholic and all-running.
Midfielder – Eric Ocansey – Kortrijk (6.8/10)
Kortrijk posted a 4-2 win over Anderlecht at the Guldensporen Stadion. Ghanaian Eric Ocansey started the game for the winners while youngster Francis Amuzu and Jeremy Doku were dropped to the Anderlecht bench. Ocansey is the younger brother of Michael Ocansey and Mandela Ocansey.
Winger – Ishmael Yartey – KPV Kokkola (7.9/10)
Man of the Match show from the winger who took his side to a 2-1 victory over HJK Helsinki on Sunday. He scored on the 77th minute to take his goal tally to 3 in the league.
Attacker – Kevin-Prince Boateng – Fiorentina (7/10)
The ex-AC Milan man played full throttle for La Viola in their 3-1 win over Monza in the Coppa Italia. A great way to start competitive football with the Serie A side.
Attacker – Solomon Asante – Phoenix Rising (8/10)
The former TP Mazembe man used the weekend to score two goals and catapult himself to become Phoenix’s all-time top-scorer by scoring a brace to fire his side to an emphatic victory.
Striker – Issah Abass – FC Utrecht (7.2/10)
Ghanaian striker Issah Abass scored a 9th minute finish for FC Utrecht who held Feyenoord to a 1-1 draw. The Mainz 05 loanee has registered his first goal of the Eredivisie season.
