Majeed Ashimeru will not be available for the Black Meteors in today’s Africa U23 Cup of Nations qualifier against Algeria.
The Red Bull Salzburg man has been suspended due to accumulated number of cards.
Ashimeru picked up a second yellow card in the first leg match against Algeria in Accra to tally his number of cautions to two having initially been booked against Togo in the first round of qualifiers.
An oversight on the part of the Ghana technical team saw the player travel with his colleagues for the game in Setif, however the team got a notification from CAF ruling him out of the game.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko will now resort to Isaac Twum who came on as a second half substitute against Algeria in Accra.
Ghana will need nothing short of victory to progress to the competition.
