Kotoko midfielder Jordan Opoku remains cautious ahead of his side’s CAF Champions League cracker against Etoile du Sahel.
Etoile play as guest to Kotoko at the Babayara Sports Stadium on Sunday in the first leg of the final playoffs to the Group stage.
Kotoko must record a massive win to increase their chances of making it to the money zone for the first time in 11 years.
Opoku, the only member of the Kotoko team that faced the Tunisian side in 2008 is aware of the impending threat from the North Africans.
“Teams from North Africa are very stubborn and can upset any team on any day. I remember my first year at Kotoko we met Etoile du Sahel and they drew 2-2 with us in Kumasi and they beat us in the reverse,” the 37-year-old spoke to CAFonline.com
“Things are different now and I know that with the preparations we have done so far, we should be able to carry the day on Sunday.”
The experienced midfielder was a late addition Kotoko’s squad having had issues with his registration.
