Ghana goalkeeper Daniel Agyei has ended his stay with Ethiopian Club Jimma Aba Jifar.
The goalkeeper did not renew his contract with the Club at the end of the season in Ethiopia.
Agyei, 2009 Fifa u20 World Cup winner arrived in the East African country two years ago from Tanzanian Club Simba FC.
“Words can not vividly describe the extent to which am sad to say goodbye to Jimma Abaa Jifar fc. I enjoyed my stay with the club both off and on the field,” he posted on his Facebook page.
“I would like to thank the management, the playing body and the technical team especially my goalkeeper’s coach Mr Mohammed who has helped me to become a better goalkeeper. Thank you coach Mohamed for being a great MENTOR and a FRIEND to me. May you be blessed with health and wealth abundantly.
“Finally and most importantly I would like to thank the Jimma Abaa Jifar fans I believe they are the greatest fans in the world football. You have supported me from the moment I arrived not only on the pitch but difficult moment in my personal life off the pitch I will never forget. It is so so difficult to say bye but I believe we shall cross path again. I wish the club the best of luck in their future endeavour Jimmaa Abbaa jifaar.”
The 29-year-old shot to prominence in Ghana after helping the Black Satellites make history by winning the FIFA u20 World Cup for the first time.
