Ghana defender Harrison Afful has extended his contract with Major League Soccer side Columbus Crew.
With 117 appearances under his belt, the right-back is likely to make more outings for the Club having received a new deal.
Crew announced the decision on Wednesday that the two parties have renewed their relationship.
“We are glad to have reached an agreement with Harrison which allows him to remain with Crew SC,” said Crew SC President and General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko.
“Harrison has emerged as one of the Crew’s veteran voices since joining the Club and his contributions as a leader are vital to the success of our team. I also want to thank our Technical Director Pat Onstad for his efforts to get this over the line.”
Afful moved to Columbus Crew in 2015 from Tunisian giants Esperance and has since become fans favorite.
Despite missing out in Ghana’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations campaign through injury, Coach Kwesi Appiah has invited the former Kotoko star for the Black Stars 2021 Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome e Principe.
