The Ghana Football Association have received $100,000 from former Normalization Committee President Dr. Kofi Amoah as part of Globacom’s compensation money to the FA for abrogating their sponsorship contract.
Glo paid an amount of $1million to the FA for wrongfully terminating a deal with the Nation’s football governing body. However $900,000 was paid into the FA’s account after Dr. Kofi Amoah deducted 10% of the money for what he claimed was used to pay legal fees.
After an interrogation between Kofi Amoah and the Ghana Football Association, the former has been compelled to pay back the $100,000 which was deducted.
The latest development settles several misconceptions surrounding the said money from the Nigerian Telecommunication company.
Kofi Amoah’s mandate as the Normalization Committee President ended following the election of a new Ghana Football Association President as well as Executive Council members.
FIFA appointed a team led by the business man to run Ghana Football following an unfortunate scandal which hit members of the old administration.
