English-born former Ghana U20 trialist Yeboah Amankwah was in the Manchester City U21 side that slipped to a 3-1 loss to Scunthorpe and exited the English Football League Trophy competition on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old right-back was unused by Paul Harsley as his side suffered the exit from the competition to the League Two side.
Amankwah, whose parents hail from Berekum in the Bono region, has been at Manchester City for the past four seasons after joining from rival club Manchester United.
With City U21 exiting the competition it means the Ghanaian would now have to shift his focus to the Premier League 2 competition where he mainly plays.
He trialed out with the Ghana U20 side in January 2019 but he was dropped from the final 21-man squad for the 2019 CAF U20 Cup of Nations in Niger.
