Ghana defender John Boye struck the solitary goal for Metz as Les Grenats claimed a 1-0 win over Strasbourg in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday evening at the Stade Municipal Saint-Symphorien.
The 32-year-old center-back arrived in the box to powerful strike the ball past the visitors’ goalkeeper following a goalmouth melee in the 68th minute.
The vital win has further lifted Metz away from the drop zone.
This is the first time the defender has scored for his club in the league this season and his goal could be vital in their relegation survival campaign.
