Management of Asante Kotoko have condemn the unfortunate incident that happened at the Babayara Sports Stadium during their League match against Berekum Chelsea on Sunday.
Chaos erupted at the stadium which saw the shooting of a fan.
The home fans who were livid with the output of centre referee Charles Bulu made things difficult for Police personnel on duty due to their disruptive behavior.
At the blast of the referee’s final whistle, the host supporters tried to find their way into the inner perimeter to attack referee Bulu, with that effort failing to materialize due to heavy security personnel, the fans retorted in throwing object onto the field.
In an attempt to control the crowd, one Police man mistakenly shot at a fan who was then rushed to the hospital.
The act has since raised fears among several football fans who are planning to watch Kotoko’s subsequent home matches.
Kotoko have therefore condemned acts which occurred at the Stadium and have called for calm.
Meanwhile the fan who was shot is said to be responding to treatment.
