Ghana head coach Charles Akonnor is set to hand Asante Kotoko defensive midfielder Justice Blay his maiden senior national team call up, according to Sunyani-based Nimdi3 FM.
The 27-year-old Medeama SC loanee has received raving reviews with his outstanding performances for the Porcupine Warriors since his switch from Medeama.
Akonnor has been tasked to build a new look Ghana national team side and has identified the midfield workhorse as one of his key potentials.
Blay has impressed since his move to Kotoko and scored the match-winner for Kotoko when they defeated Hearts of Oak 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium in the Ghana Premier League in January.
It has been reported in the Ghanaian local media that Akonnor plans to drop most of the old faces in the Ghana team and is set to usher in fresh names including Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richard Attah.
