Ghana international Bernard Tekpetey was handed a starting role by Fortuna Dusseldorf who held Wolfsburg to a 1-1 drawn game in the German Bundesliga on Saturday.
Tekpetey, 22, started his first Bundesliga game since last November but was replaced on the hour mark by his compatriot Nana Opoku Ampomah. And, his assist-making performance is expected to help him nail down a permanent place in the Dusseldorf team.
Dusseldorf manager Uwe Rosler reposed confidence in the youngster and handed him berth in his line up as he searched for victory over Wolfsburg at the Volkswagen Arena.
Tekpetey is on loan from giants Schalke 04 until the end of the 2019/2020 season and will automatically revert to the club at the end of the season.
Whoscored.com rated the performance of the Ghanaian player 6.5/10 – meaning he was the fourth highest performer in the Dusseldorf team.
Meanwhile Black Stars defender Kasim Adams Nuhu remained rooted to the dug-out of the visitors as he was unused for the entire period of the game. Kasim is on loan from fellow Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim and his continuous stay on the bench is expected to affect his market value as well as his performance for the Ghana national team.
Youngster Kelvin Ofori, a product of Right to Dream Academy, did not travel with the Dusseldorf squad for the game.
