Striker Kwame Poku is set to seal a three-year-contract with Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko after passing medicals, according to Kumasi-based radio station Light FM.
The 21-year-old was a key target for Asante Kotoko before he embarked on a trip to Serbia where he was unsuccessful in his bid to secure a foreign contract.
Poku, player on the books of Ghanaian second-tier side Nkoranza Warriors, failed to make the grades for Ghana’s U20 AFCON squad BUT, has impressed Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu who wants to bring the striker in as a replacement for the departing Songne yacouba.
Kotoko’s regional rivals AshantiGold came close to securing the signature of the striker after the NC Special Competition but the deal fell through.
