Ghana Coach CK Akonnor is willing to invite Besiktas midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng to the Black Stars.
Boateng has been out of the National team for the past six years after a fallout with former Coach Kwesi Appiah.
The former Barcelona and AC Milan player had a burst-up with Appiah during Ghana’s 2014 World Cup campaign in Brazil, a situation which saw him being sacked from the team’s camp and has since been overlooked in subsequent call-ups.
In a video conversation with brother Jerome Boateng, the 33-year-old hinted at the possibility of throwing a last shot with the Black Stars by staging a return.
Akonnor is ready to recall the former Sassuolo man to the National team based of his performance.
“If Kevin-Prince Boateng is available, why not? If he is doing well and actively playing, why not?,” he said in an interview with Joy FM.
“I need to talk to the GFA about it [to sort out the suspension]. But he is welcome.”
In November 2011, Boateng announced his international retirement, citing fatigue from travel at the age of 24 years, thus missing the chance to contest the 2012 and 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
He later rescinded his decision and returned to the Black Stars prior to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
