Ghana Division one side Tema Youth have marked their 15th anniversary.
The Tema-based Club was founded in the year 2005 and has since been in existence, producing some of the finest talents in the country.
Known for nurturing numerous footballers, Tema Youth have gone on to feature in Ghana’s elite division.
The Harbour Warriors as they are called had players like Yahaya Mohammed, current joint top scorer in the Ghana Premier League, Ekow Benson and former Black Stars goalkeeper Ernest Sowah all aiding the team to qualify for their maiden appearance in the Ghana Premier League under the supervision of the late Yusif Abubakar.
Wilfred Osei Palmer, owner and bankroller of the Club has also served in different capacities at the Ghana Football Association and was an aspirant for the Football Association Presidency but for a decision by the Normalization Committee to disqualify him.
Former Ghana international Joachim Yaw Acheampong, Isaac Opeele Boateng and Austrian coach Attila Sekerlioglu are some of the notable coaches who have handled the team in the past.
In 2007, the Club managed to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup competition for the first time but couldn’t participate due to financial difficulties, as a result got disqualified by CAF.
Some notable players of the Club includes, Samuel Bioh, Jeremiah Akorful, Moses Odjer, Bright Adjei, Samuel Ayew Yeboah amongst others.
Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey as well as Turkey-based Joseph Attamah Larweh are all products of the Club.
