Fast-rising Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu has become one of the hottest cakes on the European transfer market with Manchester United, Newcastle United, Real Madrid and Atletico de Madrid all linked with his signing.
The latest club to join the race to capture the signature of the 21-year-old defender is La Liga outfit Valencia.
It is most certain that Salisu, who was born in Kumasi, will quit Real Valladolid for a stellar club.
The next destination for the uncapped Ghanaian will hugely depend on the agency that manages the right of the youngster.
Spain-based intermediary agency GRUPO JM10 SPORT SL have the rights to negotiate any deal regarding the transfer of the Ghanaian.
GRUPO JM10 SPORT SL currently have eleven players under their portfolio with the Ghanaian being their biggest asset. Salisu is currently valued at €11m by Transfermarkt.com but his value could go up depending on crafty his representatives negotiate his next contract.
Meanwhile within the portfolio of GRUPO JM10 SPORT SL is Manchester United star Juan Mata who is also a client of the agency. Mata, 32, is the next most valuable player on their cards with a Transfermarkt value of €9.5m.
Salisu remains one of the most consistent Ghanaian players in mainstream Europe and has earned raving reviews from European pundits who have predicted he has what it takes to be at the top and remain there.
Despite his talent and maturity coupled with his precociousness Salisu is yet to feature for Ghana with experts believing he is avoiding the West African nation who deemed him unfit for international football at youth level.
Salisu played for a Spanish-owned Ghanaian-based football academy called Africa Talent Academy before being sent to Spain where he joined Real Valladolid’s U19 side in 2017. He was promoted to the Valladolid B a year later and joined the first team in 2019.
He played 2,486 La Liga and Copa del Rey minutes in the 2019/20 season and scored once for Valladolid.
