Former Kotoko quintet Muntari Tagoe, Tuffour Frimpong, Mawuli Osei, Iddrisu Nafiu and Yakubu Mohammed are among the 22 stranded Ghanaian Footballers in Ethiopia.
A video of Ghanaian Footballers in the East African country went viral on Tuesday where the players pleaded with the state government to airlift them to the country due to the Coronavirus.
The Virus which have halted every football activity on the continent has taken a toll on the Ghanaian contingent in Ethiopia who are now struggling to fend for themselves coupled with other challenges such as rent and work permit.
The list of 22 players also had former Hearts of Oak defenders Kweku Ando and Isaac Oduro. Latif Mohammed, Alhassan and Fusieni Nuhu formerly of the Black Stars B team and Ashanti Gold is also part of the shipwrecked players.
Former Black Stars defender and 2010 FIFA World Cup participants Lee Addy also found himself in the unfortunate situation.
The Ghana Football Association together with the Sports Ministry have made arrangements to airlift the players back to Ghana.
