Controversial football administrator Takyi Arhin has failed to confirm who he will support in case the Court of Arbitration for Sports orders for a rerun of the Ghana Football Association Presidential elections.
The former Chief Execution Officer for Techiman XI Wonders now holds a position in the Kurt Okraku GFA-led administration but has failed to confirm his absolute support for the former Dreams FC President in case of a re-election.
Arhin, who is known in football circles as Thunder, chameleoned himself into a Kurt Okraku proponent after leaving the camp of Wilfred Osei Kwaku ‘Palmer’ when he was disqualified from the Presidential race by FIFA’s Ghana FA Normalisation Committee in October 2019.
He has since taken a stance with the pro-Kurt Okraku team and has even accepted a position as a Management Committee member of Ghana’s Black Stars B side.
Kurt was elected Ghana FA President on October 25, 2019 in an election which travelled three rounds and had George Afriyie, the first runner up, conceding defeat in the third round.
But, CAS could order a rerun of the polls based on a case pending on its panel of judges in a coming verdict which is slated for August 4, 2020. The verdict was originally slated for July 17, 2020 but was postponed to the latest date.
Meanwhile Takyi Arhin, who was a known Palmer advocate, has now failed to declare his support for either Palmer or Kurt Okraku and told Richard Ntow Gyan on Nimdee FM that he will only decide when the situation arrives.
“[The situation is not yet here so I cannot decide right now. But, when we get there I will decide who I will support],” he said.
In May 2020 Arhin he described critics of the Kurt Okraku GFA administration as people who wear wooden spectacles in an onslaught which has been described by some section of the Ghanaian football fraternity as a lamentable parenthesis.
