Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu is expected to undergo a 14-day quarantine in the UK before his announcement by Southampton.
The Saint have completed the signing of the player in a fee around £10.9million.
Salisu will hence fly to the United Kingdom where he will undergo his medical before he is officially unveiled as a player for the English Premier League side.
But the 21-year-old will first have to go through the mandated quarantine process before his deal is formalized by the English Premier League side.
Southampton met Real Valladolid’s asking price to acquire the services of the player.
The defender was a prime target for Ralph Hasenhüttl who was in search of a centre-back before the end of the season.
The player’s arrival could give Hasenhüttl a big relief ahead of the new season after the team’s defensive woes in the just ended campaign.
