Phoenix Rising’s Ghanaian steamroller Solomon Asante has revealed the secret behind his scoring form in the USA after reaching 40 league goals in the USL.
The pint-size 30-year-old forward reached 40 goals for Rising on Saturday night as he bagged a crackin finish in their 3-1 home win over Texas-based El Paso Lokomotive in Arizona.
After reaching the latest milestone the forme TP Mazembe and Berekum Chelsea star has described his mood in an interview with Ghana Sports Online.
The Kumasi-born forward scored 14 goals in 36 league appearances on his maiden season before proceeding to score 22 goals in 34 games in 2019 while scoring 4 goals in 5 games in the ongoing 2020 season.
This means it has taken the offensive midfielder 75 league games to score 40 goals of Rising who are chasing promotion into the Major League Soccer.
After reaching 40 goals the 1.73m forward has put his achievement down to discipline and dedication to his game.
“40 goals so far… Let’s thank God for bringing me to this far. [It’s been dedication, discipline and hard work]. These are the reasons why I have gotten to where I am now,” he added.
“Football is my job and I need to do it well with passion but scoring goals and winning games makes me feels happy,” he told Ghana Sports Online’s El Akyereko in an interview.
Meanwhile he settled on his goal against Orange County SC during last season’s campaign as his best goal so far in the season. The goal won last season’s goal of the season award.
“All my goals are important and I love to score beautiful and incredible goals always. Last season’s goal of the season is one of my best that I scored against Orange County,” he concluded.
