Ghanaian winger Solomon Asante chalked a milestone on Saturday night as his total league goals tallied 40 for Phoenix Rising.
The 30-year-old, who stands only 1.73m tall, put his name on the scoresheet on the 36th minute mark when he beautifully connected a pass from Azerbaijan Rufat Dadashov around the edge of the box before rattling the net with a well-taken drive.
Asante went into the game having scored 39 goals in 74 league appearances for the Arizona-based side and his exquisite finish from just around the box sealed his 40th league goal for the enterprising side.
The former Berekum Chelsea and TP Mazembe steamroller arrived in the USL in 2018 winter after agreeing to leave DR Congo giants Mazembe.
The Kumasi-born forward scored 14 goals in 36 league appearances on his maiden season before proceeding to score 22 goals in 34 games in 2019 while scoring 4 goals in 5 games in the ongoing 2020 season.
This means it has taken the offensive midfielder 75 league games to score 40 goals of Rising who are chasing promotion into the Major League Soccer.
