Ghanaian youth defender Paul Appiah precipitated Aston Villa’s 3-1 win over Reading FC with a commanding display in defence in the English U18 Premier League on Saturday.
The former Chelsea schoolboy, 17, was at the thick of affairs in defence as he marshalled the lines and urged his side to claim the deserving win over the opposition players.
Villa fell to a Jahmari Clark 14th minute strike and it took the organisational qualities and vision of Appiah to get his side back on track and urge them to go for the ultimate in the second-half as they scored three times within the last 11 minutes of the game.
Appiah has commanding a regular berth in the Villa team since joining the Villans from Chelsea in 2019 summer.
While he was in action for Villa his Ghanaian compatriots David Nyarko exchanges places during the game as he took the place of Lynford Sackey on the 66th minute mark.
There was also game time for Kelvin Abrefa who lasted the entire period of the game in defence.
