Belgium-born Ghanaian attacker Jeremy Doku has become the most discussed youth talent in Europe after scoring on his full debut for Belgium against Iceland.
The 18-year-old was handed his first start for Belgium against Iceland on Tuesday night and he grabbed the opportunity by scoring and setting up a goal in the game.
The forward was handed his first cap by Roberto Martinez on Saturday, coming on as a substitute for the final two minutes of a 2-0 win over Denmark in Copenhagen.
Handed a first start against Iceland in Brussels on Tuesday night, Doku completed a 5-1 rout by netting Belgium’s final goal 11 minutes from the end.
Doku has been courted by English giants Liverpool in the past but the Anfield giants failed to reach a deal with Anderlecht to price him away.
The youngster told Ghana Sports Online in May 2019 that he is undecided about his future at international level despite representing the European giants at youth level.
But, the new feat achieved with Roberto Martinez’s side mean his future with Ghana is almost dead.
